June 12, 2008: Following the success of last year's Fry's Electronics Open at Grayhawk, the Raptor course has been chosen again to host the event for 2008.
Now known as the Frys.com Open, this year's tournament will run from October 22nd – October 26th, and should provide as much excitement with last year's returning champion Mike Weir scheduled to play along with local hero Phil Mickelson and numerous other PGA stars.
In 2007 we saw Mike Weir edge out Mark Hensby on the final hole to take home $900,000.
Although the name changed from last year, the Frys.com Open is pretty much the same set up as the previous year's tournament.
The event will still be part of the PGA Tour's Fall Series and all four rounds will be televised on the Golf Channel. All four rounds will also be played on the Raptor course again. Sorry Talon course, no love for you.
The biggest difference from this year's tournament compared to last year's is the number of golfers in the field. This year's event will be a full field of 132 players.
